Confirmation Prep

High School Students – Grades 9 and up

Our Confirmation preparation program is a 2-year program for 9th and 10th grade students. While preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation, students take a close look at the belief statements in The Apostles’ Creed, read scripture, build a stronger prayer life and develop a deeper relationship with Christ. Confirmation students learn with The Bible and The Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth from Saint Mary’s Press, which is organized to parallel The Catechism of the Catholic Church.  In addition, resources from YDisciple provide challenging opportunities to deepen their relationship with God.

The two year formation includes small and large group study, service projects, chapel time, retreats and additional faith based activities to prepare for Confirmation. After Confirmation, students are welcomed into the life of the parish. Opportunities include small groups, volunteering at Mass, being a Youth Leader or other parish ministries, etc.

Confirmation preparation is open to students entering Grade 9 and older. The two year process begins in the Fall of Year I and is completed in the Spring of Year II. Students entering 2024-26 Confirmation preparation must present a newly issued Baptismal certificate.  A reminder will be emailed to parents to allow plenty of time to obtain a copy.  The date for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for Year 2 Candidates (2023-25) is determined by the Archdiocese and has yet to be announced.

Please use the “REGISTRATION” link from the Faith Formation dropdown menu to register. Only one form per family is necessary.
