Grade 2 and Older
Sacramental Preparation is for children in the St. Dominic Faith Formation Program and St. Dominic School, in Grade 2 (or older) preparing to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist.
Students in the St. Dominic Faith Formation program participate in active learning on Wednesday evenings, as well as a few weekend family days, using the Blessed curriculum, by Dynamic Catholic, Matthew Kelly.
From Dynamic Catholic….”
“This world-class program does more than prepare children for their First Communion. It takes them on an unforgettable adventure that will have them saying, “I want to be Catholic forever!”
For learning to take place, students need to be emotionally connected. This program uses animated short films to take the children “on an unforgettable adventure into the story of Jesus and the life-giving truths of his church”. Each week, the teachable moments in the films are combined with Holy Scripture, discussion and prayer.
Students are also encouraged to write or draw in journals, to help them have intimate conversations with Jesus. They might be inspired by something at Mass that touched their heart or they could record their own thoughts to Jesus. We know that parents are the first and most important teachers of our faith. Blessed offers an email program for parents, so they can go on this journey with their child.
