Letting the sick and grieving know that we care and are praying for them makes a huge difference. This ministry needs card makers, donations of cards and sending out.
If you are interested in making or sending cards at the time of the death of a loved one, please contact Nancy Ludescher for information and interview.
This beautiful ministry creates shawls of all colors, shapes and sizes for those who are suffering difficult circumstances and want to wrap themselves in loving warmth and comfort.
Individuals in the Prayer Shawl Ministry, knit or crochet prayer shawls for people in our parish family who are undergoing times of anxiety or suffering. While knitting or crocheting, volunteers pray for the health and healing of the person who will receive the prayer shawl and pray for God's love for the receiver, the receiver's family, friends, and care team.
This Ministry team is also creating Baptismal Baby blankets for those infants newly welcomed into our Parish Family.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:15 p.m. in the Devney Hughes Room. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to knit or crochet at home. Shawls and drop them off at the parish office. Donations of yarn are also welcome.
This group is open to all knitters and crocheters (beginners too!)
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Janice Willems at 507-649-7117.

“Be a Friend to someone who needs a good listener”
BeFrienders are volunteers who complete a series of training and then accept the commitment to be visitors. BeFriending is an extension of pastoral ministry – although it can be informal and simply a way of life that involves listening to others we encounter.
Training is scheduled annually. One does not need to make a commitment until after the training. (Several other ministries greatly benefit from the training.) All are welcome to this mutually beneficial ministry.
Next training: Planned for Feb-April 2025 at St Dominic.
Please contact Nancy Ludescher for more information. Please note: If you are interested in the winter of 2025 training, we will need to order materials in advance (January 2025).
Anointing and Healing Masses at St. Dominic Church are held twice a year, typically in October and April.
