Confirmation Preparation

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year program of spiritual formation and study of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Year I focus study is God–Father, Son and Holy Spirit, His presence in the church and the sacraments, and deepening our prayer life. Year II focus study is the human response to God’s call to holiness, the foundation of the moral life, and deepening our prayer life.

Students participate in the life of the church through Sunday Mass attendance, small and large group gatherings, community service, scheduled chapel visits, and retreats. The emphasis is not placed so much on receiving the sacrament as to enabling students to live their sacramental commitment after being confirmed.

Confirmation preparation is open to students entering Grade 9 and older. The two-year process begins in the Fall of Year I and is completed in the Spring of Year II.

Confirmation this year will be on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 7:00 pm at St. Dominic.
