Anointing Masses and Blessing of Prayer Shawls

The Lord shows great concern for the bodily and spiritual welfare of the sick and commands his followers to do the same.  In our Catholic tradition the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is offered to those whose health is seriously impaired by sickness or old age.  This sacrament gives the grace of the Holy Spirit to those who are sick.  Anointing will take place at the Northfield Hospital on Wednesday, April 8, at Three Links on Friday, April 10, at the 10:30 AM Mass Sunday, April 12, and at the Northfield Retirement Center on Wednesday, April 15.

During the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, April 12, there will be a blessing of prayer shawls and prayer shawl ministers.  These prayerful ministers create a shawl that is a gift of comfort and peace for those receiving, a reminder of the loving presence of God.  You are welcome to bring your prayer shawls from home.
